How Marijuana Become Illegal

Before the 20th Century, drugs used to be legal. Weed, cocaine, heroine & more. So what made the change in law? In the early 1900's a man named Harry Anslinger became the first commissioner of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics and wrote in a report to the U.S. Senate that marijuana should be illegal because it "causes women to seek sexual relations with Negroes and Hispanics" and details how their "satanic music and jazz is a result of marijuana". Harry began gaining more and more popularity among politicians and eventually had the support of then-president Franklin Roosevelt. When the law banning these substances was first put, alcohol was also included in the ban, this was however later lifted. The law has been effect since 1937 but the states of Washington and Colorado has since lifted the law on marijuana.

Why Martin Luther King Jr. Day Should Be More Recognized

Martin Luther King Jr. was a powerful man. His voice and leadership led to a new age in America. So my question is, why don't people recognize him more for what he's done? Yesterday was Martin Luther King Jr. Day and no one seemed to realize this. I used to support Malcolm X more than King, but i once saw a video of Martin delivering a speech about how the human body is made up of chemicals. Enough iron to make a penny, enough iron to make a nail & just enough fat to make a bar of soap. That's when I realized, this man was more than a spokesperson. This man was a scientist. Winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 proves how the man used his knowledge and wisdom to educate young black men & women to finish a movement that he started. It shouldn't be just black people that recognize what type of man he was, the entire world should be more educated on Martin Luther King Jr. because he was a person who was capable of using his words over actions and used his voice to change the world.

Worldstar

Now normally, I'm not much of a computer person. I rarely use the internet except when I need to look up something. The lone exception is when i go on worldstar. Worldstarhiphop is a website with videos of modern day media, and well as sports highlights, hip-hop videos and fights. The videos posted can keep me entertained for hours at a time. Every morning I make a coffee and go on worldstar and watch videos of highlights, fights and more. What I like about worldstar is that it is the first website to post rap videos and interviews, as well as it's an organized website that doesn't give viruses or pop-ups, something that other websites would do. This is the only website I look at on a regular basis and it's something I like going on a lot.

Boyz-n-the-Hood

Everyone has a favourite movie. Some prefer a good comedy or a movie that can scare someone and keep them up at night but for me, Boyz-n-the-Hood is without a doubt my favourite. The message is clear in this movie, that living in South Central Los Angeles is a constant struggle when you are surrounded by drugs, gangs and violence. Aside from the powerful message displayed, the movie also features my favourite movie character of all time, Furious Styles. Furious is the father of main character in the movie and he displays a very powerful mind and teaches his son lessons that I also follow. Furious expresses his knowledge and wisdom often and some of the things he say in the movie will leave you thinking for a while after the movie is over. This is a big reason why Boyz-n-the-Hood is an award-winning movie and my personal favourite.
